St Giles is an all age special school for children with physical disabilities, complex medical needs and a wide range of learning difficulties, profound, severe and moderate.

We are looking for a creative and enthusiastic teacher to join our team. This is for a class of 7 pupils from Y5 to Y7 with profound and multiple learning difficulties. You will be supported by a team of experienced teaching assistants to deliver highly personalised teaching and learning, therapy programmes and personal care.

You will

  • Be a creative practitioner
  • Have experience of complex needs and/or early learning
  • Be able to work as a member of a large inter-disciplinary team alongside medical and therapy staff

  • Support you to develop your practice with complex learners
  • Provide a fantastic place to work, with great colleagues and amazing children
  • Give you opportunities to develop your special interests

We are looking for additional teaching assistants to join our hard working and supportive staff at St Giles School. We are a school for pupils with complex medical needs, physical disabilities and learning difficulties and include pupils and students in Early Years, Primary, Secondary and Post 16. We are a happy and successful learning environment where we value creativity and celebrate everyone’s efforts to participate and contribute to the best of their ability.

Our Teaching Assistants are based in a class and support learning, therapy programmes, medical and personal care.

You will be enthusiastic and creative with experience of working with children and at least a Level 2 qualification in an education or care related area. We will provide further training and support, fantastic colleagues and amazing children.

Part-time:  12:10 pm to 1.40pm Mon-Fri term time only

7½ hours per week Grade 2 – SCP 3-4 – £3,846.12- £3,915.34 per annum

(Additional hours may be available in the future)

We are looking for additional midday supervisory assistants, to join our hard working and supportive staff at St Giles School. We are a school for pupils with complex medical needs, physical disabilities and learning difficulties and include pupils and students in Early Years, Primary, Secondary and Post 16. We are a happy and successful learning environment where we value creativity and celebrate everyone’s efforts to participate and contribute to the best of their ability.

Our midday supervisory assistants work alongside our class staff: during the lunch period where their duties include feeding, personal care and engaging with pupils with a range of learning difficulties including some with very complex needs.

The ideal candidate will be a positive individual who is calm and caring and willing to learn new skills.  If you have good people skills, plenty of enthusiasm, and energy and enjoy working in a friendly environment, we would be pleased to hear from you.

Experience in working with pupils with special educational needs or young children would be beneficial but not essential for the right applicant.
